The Hexagon Blanket is finished!!!  I am thrilled to have completed my first crocheted project!!  It was four months of learning and colors…some I like more than others!

Hooking up a cushion cover now…courtesy of Attic24’s pattern.  (Thank you oodles, Lucy!):

Dassa has a new swing and new glasses…both are enriching her life!

Other happenings:

*A Blue Belt for Dassa, who tested last week…
*More Turtles being rescued…it’s a thankless job…
*Getting Ready…for a big trip next week…just Me and my Mom, going to meet friends and have lots of fun!

Good: Beautiful, Cooler, Drier, Autumny Weather!
Bad: 90 degree weather at next week’s destination!
Ugly: All the laundry that must get done before I go!

…when you insist that the girls accompany you on a walk in the woods:

They start talking…to you, to each other…it’s a good thing. ♥

Good: AUTUMN!!
Not So Good: Humidity…
Super Duper Good: Sunflowers!

I am in love with my new enamelware pitcher (Ikea find)…and I have plans for those frames.  Oh, how I love them!!!  (again, Ikea)

Fourteen Gnomes…done and done!!  Yahoo!  Now I can go back to the Hexagon Blanket with no worries, and that is a wonderful feeling!
Dassa and I were hit with a lousy cold virus last week, feeling so very icky…but I knit on and I am so very glad I did!!!  (We’re all better and back to normal now…thanks for asking!)

I even sent some of the recipients a photo, I was so excited.  But I hope the surprise isn’t ruined, ’cause their photo looks like this:

Yep…that should keep them guessing, all but the sneakiest…she’ll figure it out for sure!

Good:  All’s quiet…house is feeling more like home these days…
Not So Good: The heat!  Where did Fall go?!
Super Duper Good: My morning walk with Zeke…it’s long, it’s peaceful, it’s in the country.  We see turkeys.  ♥

Isn’t that a great shot of Zekie?  Pitter took it with her iTouch the other day…needless to say they were practicing agility…

Doings…

The hexagon blanket is on hold for now, as we are being invaded by tiny Gnomes!!!  They take a couple hours, start to finish and I figure I need about 15.  Sooooo….I am trying to make at least one a day – they will be my table gifts for Texas – hope no one sees this!!!  I’m hoping to be creative with the presentation, but I have not had that “aha” moment – yet.  I do think they are darned cute!!  Do you see the one waving?  Or is he shaking his fist?  Uh, oh…
In other news, we had an early morning visit from the twins, who were kind enough to do a bit of weeding out by the woods.  The bigger of the two was even nice enough to pose for a couple blurry photos:

Oooooh!  And the turkeys are all around!!!  We are still on turtle patrol, though as the days cool off, that will become less and less necessary.
Can you feel that chill in the air?  We finally had a taste of Autumn yesterday.  I just adore Autumn!!!  This will be the first one in the new house.  Tater and Dassa are planning a Halloween party.  “Daddy said we could!!”  Dassa has become obsessed with Martha Stewart’s Halloween magazine.  Oh, my…

Good: Gnome Invasion!
Not Good: A Serious Lack of any kind of beautiful yard…I Need Flowers!
Super-Duper Good: Expecting packages from friends!!
